Questions

Straight answers.

If what you want to know is not here, write to us and ask. A real person reads every message, and no question is too small to be worth asking.

Is it really free?

Yes, and it stays that way. There is no fee, no upgrade, no paid tier and nothing to buy. Sponsors and partners fund the platform and the coordination behind the sessions, and no participant pays anything. Registering here does not put you on a list for anything you have to pay for later.

Do I have to register, or can I just turn up?

You need to register, once. It is free and takes a couple of minutes. We check military affiliation by hand before approving it, then email you your own Zoom link — and that same link works every Tuesday after that, so there is nothing to sign up for each week.

Can Veteran, Guard and Reserve spouses join?

Yes. So can surviving spouses, separated and divorced spouses, unmarried and engaged partners, caregiver spouses, dual-military spouses, and spouses of Service Members of any rank and any characterization of discharge. If you are working out whether you qualify, the answer is almost certainly yes — here is the full list, and what we do not ask.

Are the sessions recorded?

Yes. Sessions are recorded on Zoom and you are told at the start of each one. The recording is for the MilSpouseU™ team’s own use, nobody outside the team sees it, and it is never published, sold, broadcast, shared with other participants or sent to a partner or funder. We keep it for 90 days and then delete it. The Privacy page sets all of this out.

What time is it where I am?

Sessions start at 8 PM Eastern — 7 PM Central, 6 PM Mountain, 5 PM Pacific. Arizona keeps standard time all year, so it is 5 PM there from March to November and 6 PM the rest of the time. In Hawaii it is 2 PM most of the year and 3 PM once the mainland clocks go back in November. In Japan it is Wednesday morning, 9 AM or 10 AM depending on the same change. None of those three change their clocks, so their time shifts twice a year relative to ours rather than the other way round.

What actually happens on a Tuesday night?

An hour of conversation on one topic, among spouses. Someone opens it, people share what they have done and what they would do differently, and questions get answered by whoever in the room has been through it. It is a discussion, not a lecture, and you are welcome to listen rather than speak.

Is this a course? Do I get a certificate?

No, to both. There is no curriculum, no enrollment, no tuition, no credential and no certificate of completion. MilSpouseU™ is a peer community, not a school, and nothing you do here is scored, graded or counted against you.

Do I have to be 18?

Yes. This is a community for adults, and the conversations are candid ones about work, money, health and family.

What if I miss a week?

Nothing happens. There is no attendance requirement and nobody is behind. Your link still works the following Tuesday, and the one after that.

I registered and nothing arrived.

Either you registered with a different address, or we have not finished verifying military affiliation yet. The Meeting Room has a lost-link form, or write to registrations@milspouseu.org and we will sort it out.

Will you sell my information?

No. We never sell, rent or trade it, and we never hand it to advertisers. We also never pass your registration to Di Nola Consulting’s paid courses as a sales list — the community and the courses are separate. What we do with what you give us.

I need an accommodation.

Ask, and you do not need to explain why or have a diagnosis. There is a box for it on the registration form, and you can write to us at any time — before you register, after, or an hour before a session starts. Our accessibility statement.

Can I speak, mentor, or bring my organization alongside you?

Please do. Speakers and mentors here, partners and sponsors here. A real person reads every message.

Plainly: MilSpouseU™ is a free peer-support and networking community for Military Spouses. There is no curriculum, no enrollment, no tuition, no credential, and no certificate of completion. Sessions are informal discussions in which participants share their own experience.
